Frequently asked questions

Not sure how 25 Degrees North could help you, or fit in with your lifestyle?

Here are some common questions about mindfulness, and our coaching services that you may find helpful.

Q: What exactly is mindfulness?

A: Valid question! Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention to the present moment with openness and without judgment. For many men, it can reduce stress, improve focus, support emotional resilience, and enhance overall mental health.

Q: Does it work differently for men and women?

A: While the core practices are the same, men often benefit from approaches tailored to their experiences - such as managing workplace stress, performance pressure, or emotional expression, rather than anything more generalised. Courses specifically designed for men, like ours, address these unique challenges

Q: Do I need any experience before I join a course?

A: No prior experience is required. Beginners are welcome, and courses are structured to guide participants step by step. Many people start having had absolutely no experience whatsoever, and quickly find mindfulness accessible and practical

Q: Is this a solution to anxiety, depression or stress?

A: Research shows mindfulness can reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, and help manage stress. It provides tools to calm the mind, regulate emotions and build resilience against everyday pressures. However, we would always caution that if you are concerned, it's a great idea to check in with your GP as well.

Q: Can mindfulness improve relationships and communication?

A: Yes. Mindfulness helps men become more present, patient, and empathetic. This often leads to healthier communication, stronger relationships, and reduced conflict in both personal and professional settings

Q: How long does it take to see results from mindfulness?

A: Many men notice benefits -such as improved focus and reduced stress -within a few weeks of regular practice. Long‑term results, like greater emotional balance, deepen with consistent engagement over months.

Q: Are mindfulness courses suitable for busy professionals?

A: Absolutely. Courses are designed to fit into demanding schedules. Even short daily practices can make a significant difference, making mindfulness a practical tool for men balancing work, family, and personal goals.
